What a thrilling week it has been.
It started out with an eleven hour drive from New York City to Greensboro on Sunday, where we skillfully avoided the snow and ice-storms and survived country buffet food!
This week has been jam-packed. We met with the fabulous Rebecca Clarke at the Piedmont Film Commission on Monday, and were tuned into a lot of great resourced in the Piedmont Triad for filming.
Tuesday and Wednesday were spent getting ready for the Fundraising event on Wednesday evening.
The event went so well- better than I ever could have dreamed of. The turn-out was fantastic, and I felt so supported and loved! My films screened well- I can't wait to get them completely locked and out into the festival circuit. The presentation went flawlessly- Seth, Paul, Noam, and Michelle all did a superb job presenting. Though it was only the beginning of our fundraising efforts, let's just say that we are off to a fantastic start!
Today we went all around Greensboro, Summerfield, and Stokesdale location scouting. I will post pictures later- everywhere we went was a possibility- we actually have location options!!
Everyone goes home tomorrow, and I must say that I am going to be sad to see this week go. Thanks again to everyone who came out on Wednesday night!

fundraising!
So, a lot has happened over the past few weeks (why do I get the feeling this is how I am going to open every blog post?)
First of all, I found out over Thanksgiving that I received an allotment from NYU to make my film! While the news was incredibly exciting, it was really only the beginning...
I still have a lot of money to raise in order to make "Sacrament" come to life, and I have countless numbers of resources that I need to get together. Christmas Break is going to be prime time for all of that to happen since I will be in Greensboro and won't have any classes going on to distract me.
This Sunday Seth and Paul (my fabulous producers) and Noam (my art director) will drive down to Greensboro with me. We will spend next week location scouting, meeting with the Piedmont Film Commission, getting casting notices out, and preparing for my FUNDRAISER EVENT next Wednesday.
Here are the details:
SACRAMENT: A FUNDRAISER EVENT
Wednesday, December 19th 6:30PM
The Open Space Theatre
4609 W Market Street
Greensboro, NC 27407
I have sent out about 100 invitations in the mail, and am incredibly excited to be able to present this project in front of my friends and family from home. I am glad that Seth, Paul, Noam, and Michelle will be by my side! (Michelle is flying down Tuesday night to join us after her final exam).
I am ESPECIALLY nervous because I will be screening four of the short films I have made at NYU, and I have never shown anyone from home my films. I hope that they like them!
Anyways, the event should be a lot of fun- The Open Space Theater is a really cool space, and I promise the presentation will be short and entertaining! Even if you can't contribute financially to the film, please still come out! There is strength in numbers!
Aaaah- this is all so exciting!!! I hope to see you all soon!

the day after...
So, the presentation was yesterday and I think it went well. My whole crew put in a lot of work for it and it really showed- I really have the best crew ever!
Now the waiting game begins....it's a really bizarre feeling to know that there is nothing else I can do before the decisions are made on Wednesday. I guess whatever happens I'm glad I've been through this process, because I feel like I am in a good place now with my film to continue to move forward and make sure it is a success. Especially since I will be going home next week and pitching the project over and over and over again, I'm glad I have that experience under my belt.
I'll keep you posted whether the news is good or bad. Either way I think that things are looking up for "Sacrament"!

first post
Hey guys!
Thanks so much for checking out my blog!
This is such an exciting week in the world of "Sacrament". Today I am talking with newspapers in North Carolina about doing some articles on myself and the movie- it's a very strange thing to work on "self-promotion", but I guess it's a must sometimes!
The next couple of days I am going to be fervously working on my script. I have to send my most recent draft to my Advanced class by Wednesday at noon, and after a script workshop this weekend Jaclyn and I realized we had some re-working to do. The new draft is coming along slowly, but hopefully it will start clicking soon! I'm really excited about the new direction we're going with it, and am very appreciative for all the feedback we've gotten.
The rest of the week will be spent preparing for my Presentation on Friday! I'm much more nervous about it than I thought I'd be, but hopefully I'll be able to use the nervous energy as motivation. I met with Seth, Noam, and Paul yesterday and thanks to their hard work things are coming together very nicely. I just need to finish my text for the prospectus and get ahold of my storyboard artist and I will feel much better....
So, on Friday I will give a presentation to my Advanced Production Class. There are 18 projects vying for 10 allotments, so the competition is very tight, especially since so many of my classmates have such great projects. I will make "Sacrament" with or without the allotment, but getting the allotment would make it a lot easier- I would have access to lots of great equipment from the school and a stipend of $1600, all of which would make the process much easier.
I'm not planning on sleeping much this week, but hopefully it's worth it!
Thanks for reading- I'll do my best to keep this blog updated constantly!
Love,
Lindsay
